After being awarded two contracts by The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust in June 2012, Integrated Health Projects (IHP), a Joint Venture between VINCI Construction UK and Sir Robert McAlpine, has been appointed to complete a further contract with the NHS Trust under the ProCure 21+ Framework.
The £2 million contract for the redevelopment of Broadgreen Hospital includes the 1,266m² refurbishment of the existing Alexander Wing and ENT/Pain Clinic. The contract also involves minor construction work to the Breast Care Department. The project is due to be completed in December 2012.
IHP is also taking the design forward for the new £8 million multi-storey car park for the new Royal Liverpool University Hospital, which will provide a minimum of 700 parking spaces.
Mark Thomas, Regional Director, VINCI Construction UK, Building Division – North West, said:
“IHP is delighted to have been appointed to redevelop the Trust’s vital healthcare services for Liverpool. Our expertise in healthcare will not only ensure the Trust has a facility which is of the highest standards but will enable the Trust to meet their vision for the future.”
The projects continue the growing relationship between VINCI Construction UK and The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Keith McGreavy, Deputy Director; Estates & Redevelopment at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, said:
"The appointment of IHP for the additional redevelopment of facilities at Broadgreen and the Breast care unit is testament to our productive working relationship with IHP and we look forward to completing these developments successfully."
