Two new check-in zones, encompassing 42 new check-in desks, have been handed over six weeks early by the Air Division as part of the £70m terminal extension and refurbishment project they are undertaking at Heathrow’s Terminal 4. The extension of the check-in area will accommodate an increase in the number of airlines based at the Terminal from 7 to 39 following their relocation from Terminals 1 and 2 from October this year. This is the fifth in a series of scheduled handovers by the Air Division, all of which have been on time or ahead of programme.
BAA's Geoff Sykes and Tom Oliver congratulated TW project manager Colin Howell praising team members Mark Hughes and Gemma Rees, saying: “Its through your hard work, dedication, leadership and attention to quality that we now have a check-in space that we can all be really proud of. You have also improved your original timescale for this hand-over considerably.”
The project is on schedule to be fully completed at the end of October this year.
