The Building division of VINCI Construction UK Limited has been awarded a £25 million contract by Sheffield City Council to refurbish and extend High Storrs Secondary School as part of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.
Because the building is Grade II listed, the protected areas will be completely refurbished while unlisted parts will be demolished and rebuilt as part of a phased programme of works.
Work will begin this summer on the first of these phases, with all work to be completed by September 2011.
Sheffield’s BSF work is being carried out by VINCI Construction UK as part of a £320 million programme to rebuild or refurbish every school in the City by 2015. Three schemes have already been completed at Silverdale, Newfield/Talbot and Yewlands.
