VINCI Construction UK wins the Health and Safety Award for South Yorkshire

VINCI Construction UK won the Health and Safety Award at the Celebrating Construction in South Yorkshire Awards Ceremony, held at Cutlers’ Hall, Sheffield.

The event showcased and recognised the high calibre of work in all tiers of the Yorkshire region’s property and construction industry including developers, designers, builders and end-users from small to large organisations.

All entries were judged by the regional Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) committee. The Health and Safety Award was given to the company that demonstrated that they not only fully complied with the Construction Health and Safety legislation but went the extra mile with the implementation of measures to enhance their performance within their operations.

All entrants had to provide evidence that they excelled in all sections of the following criteria; information and instruction, training, management and supervision, consultation and communication.

Commenting on the achievement, Keith Shivers, Regional Director for VINCI Construction UK, Building Division – North said,

“We are thrilled that VINCI Construction UK has been recognised for our exceptional standards of Health and Safety. We are committed to continuously bettering ourselves and we strive for excellence in everything we do. Our Health and Safety performance is a key priority. Through Step UP, our internal Health and Safety programme, our management team is committed to driving home the importance of Health and Safety practices from its offices to the site operations and by bringing our supply chain along with us, we look to ensure that everyone affected by our activities goes home safely at night.”
