It was in February 2015 while watching England vs Wales in the Six Nations, that VINCI Construction UK’s Paul Kirkwood and Bidwell’s Ben Hayek first conceived the idea of a joint venture Charity Rugby Match. Over 50 players from dozens of Cambridge-based construction companies were involved and risked life and limb to raise £4000 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
Following the overwhelming success of the event, they’ve decided to run it again this year. The match will take place at the Cambridge University Rugby Union Football Club on 29th April 2016 with kick-off at 3.30pm. The chosen charity this year is Alzheimer’s Research UK.
