VINCI Technology Centre UK Ltd has been confirmed as a ‘notified body’ following an independent audit by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). This is in response to new EU Construction Products Regulations which came into force 1 July , replacing the Construction Products Directive.
These regulations place enhanced requirements for independence on organisations acting as notified bodies for undertaking testing to support CE marking. To meet these requirements, the Technology Centre has been transferred to a new legal entity called VINCI Technology Centre UK Limited.
Following the introduction of the new regulations, it is estimated that VINCI Technology Centre UK will be one of a reduced number of organisations able to meet the new requirements.
Dr Russell Matthews, Director of VINCI Technology Centre UK said: “As a laboratory accredited by UKAS for 30 years, VINCI Technology Centre UK Limited will ensure the independent delivery of its testing services in line with the testing quality standard, ISO/IEC 17025. We are committed to ensuring that independence, impartiality and integrity are embedded within our management systems in order to avoid any conflict of interest, thereby safeguarding our clients.”
