Andrew Ridley-Barker has delivered a presentation alongside Boris Johnson and other leading figures at the 2014 London Infrastructure Summit.
Addressing an audience of experts, VINCI Construction UK’s managing director spoke of the need to push forward the capital’s infrastructure by replacing uncertainty with strong decision making.
Following a theme ‘infrastructure fit for the world city’, Andrew called for a long-term infrastructure plan and greater political consensus.
He also discussed the opportunities for streamlining procurement using stricter time-based deadlines, similar to that implemented for the 2012 Olympics.
Other speakers at the event included shadow infrastructure minister Lord Adonis and Dr Pippa Malmgren, a White House economic adviser during the Bush administration.
This year’s inaugural event brought together business leaders and stakeholders from the property, investment, construction, transport and public sectors to debate key infrastructure issues.
