VINCI Construction UK has completed the Formula E headquarters at Donington Park, Derby, the new home for the Federation International De Automobile’s (FIA) new global racing series.
Teams and staff for the 10 Formula E teams have started to move into the new headquarters, offices, stores and workshops, ahead of the official Test Events that will be running throughout July, and before the FIA Championship 10-race series, which begins this September in Beijing.
The facilities all meet the BREEAM Very Good sustainable construction standards, plus the government’s Low Carbon Economy and National Planning Policy Framework requirements.
Chris Hamer, Managing Director, VINCI Construction UK, Building – Regional, commented:
”We are very pleased to have played a critical role in making the Formula E headquarters fit for purpose, and of course, to play a role in supporting and reinvigorating the British motorsport industry.“
Formula E is a new FIA Championships event, with electric, single seat race cars competing that are capable of a top speed of 225km/h.
Based in the heart of England, this historical track remains a prime location for a range of driving experiences, race days and hospitality events from motorbikes to sports cars and big trucks.
