VINCI Facilities has been named as the top ranked service provider in the 2015 Sustainable FM Index organised by Acclaro Advisory.
Established in 2013, the Sustainable FM Index is now a recognised benchmarking exercise for sustainability in the facilities management industry. The Index acts as an objective measure carried out by the independent sustainability consultancy Acclaro Advisory and it aims to assess sustainability in the FM industry specifically. It works both as a benchmarking for different providers and as an assessment of where the industry is currently.
VINCI Facilities, which has a strong corporate commitment to sustainability running across all of its global operations and not just within FM, were ranked first amongst their peer group such as Skanska Facilities, Cofely UK, BAM FM and Bouygues Energies & Services. Almost 30 leading FM service providers participated in the Sustainable FM Index, which involves an in-depth assessment on 23 sector specific sustainability criteria, through to a detailed desktop analysis on information available in the public domain and a series of audits to ensure that sustainability is incorporated into the business practices.
VINCI Facilities has participated in the Index since it was first launched. A strong emphasis on a LEAN framework and a culture that emphasises continuous improvement has helped to boost the company’s assessment scores each year.
Sunil Shah, Managing Director, Acclaro Advisory said, “VINCI Facilities has taken a structured approach to understanding sustainability in their business that creates a two-way dialogue that encourages the management and implementation of sustainability. Its team listen to each other and their stakeholders and modify approaches accordingly. Furthermore, the worthy winner has developed their programme around The Index structure, which has not been a quick process, but a long-term dedication from everyone. VINCI Facilities has adapted to the annual evolution of The Index from the beginning to become the leaders in Sustainable FM service provision for 2015.”
Tony Raikes, Managing Director, VINCI Facilities said: “Sustainability is a ‘golden thread’ running through everything we do, underpinning our values and culture. It is not enough for our people to meet our contract terms, our teams seek to excel and their passion for going further is clear for everyone to see now we have been recognised as the number one in sustainability. Well done to everyone of the team involved in the Sustainable FM Index process and thanks to all of our people for passing the text with flying colours.”
