The VINCI Innovation Awards competition takes place every two years and is one of the ways in which we recognise and showcase the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of our people, both as teams and individuals.
Winners of the 2015 VINCI Regional Innovation Awards for the UK and Ireland were announced this week at a ceremony held at the Royal Geographical Society (RGS) in London.
This is the eighth competition since it was launched in 2001, with the overall number of entries worldwide increasing from 482 to 2,222. Eleven of the 202 entries for the UK and Ireland
Region collected prizes at the RGS and these innovations will now go through to the final competition which will be held in Paris in December.
The ceremony was opened by Bruno Dupety, Chairman and Chief Executive of VINCI PLC and VINCI Construction UK, saying: “We are not only a company of engineers - we are entrepreneurs. Innovation has a tangible effect on our competitiveness and profitability and is a key part of our business strategy.”
Russell Matthews, MD of the VINCI Technology Centre UK, heads up the UK and Ireland region of the competition. During his introduction to the event, Russell said: “For me the Dissemination category is the one that has the most potential to add value. By sharing the good ideas that the innovation awards showcase, we all have a chance to really make a difference.”
