Building division handed over Wigan Bus Station. It will open to the public after a year of closure, with a showcase copper concourse, live bus departure displays, enhanced retail space and 19 bus lanes. The £8m project delivered to Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) will significantly transform the centres public transport facilities, whilst providing a gateway link into the town.
Councillor David Molyneux, Leader of Wigan Council, commented:
"There's always a great sense of achievement when a project is completed ahead of schedule and I really look forward to the opening of the new bus station.
"This project will play a key part in delivering an improved transport system for the borough that is fit for the decades ahead and is in line with our commitment to supporting the economic growth of Wigan town centre."
