The Link House Bridge was successfully and safely removed from New Covent Garden's Market after 12-months of planning and enabling works. This is the first of a 3 bridge removal process planned at the live Market site during weekend possessions.
The works commenced at 7 am with a sunny and calm London Skyline providing the backdrop. The footbridge was suspended by 3 cranes and the bridge cut into 3 sections, which were in turn lowered to the ground and size reduced using a 40T excavator with shears.
Our client and team were delighted the operation was completed successfully with the final section lowered to the ground 3.5 hours earlier than planned, cleared and handed back to the Market.
