Sadlerís Mead multi-storey car park was handed over to a very satisfied client on the 18 January 2021 by our VINCI Construction UKís South West and Wales regional team.
Part of the wider Chippenham Station Hub development, this project saw the construction of a 5-storey car park providing 250 car spaces along with cycle and coach parking facilities on the southern half of the existing site. The works include electric car charging points, CCTV security systems and circulation cores including lift access. It also features the enhancement and widening of an existing entrance to the car park area under a 278 works agreement with the local council and were carefully sequenced to be undertaken as efficiently as possible whilst minimising the disruption to the nearby residents.
Russell Flowers, VINCI Construction UKís Regional Director for South West and Wales said: The team have worked exceptionally hard over the past few months in completing Sadlerís Mead multi-storey car park. The building includes fantastic facilities that Iím sure the people of Chippenham and the wider community will really appreciate. Our client is extremely pleased with the result and I couldnít be happier. Well done to all involved!Ē
Designed by Architects AHR and engineering consultants Hydrock, the project features a Reinforced Concrete Frame with pre-cast concrete decks, timber cladding systems and associated external works and MEP installations.
The original car park, which sits on the corner of Sadlers Mead and Cocklebury Road in Chippenham, had previously provided surface car parking for 165 spaces.
