VINCI Building have completed the second phase of the East Park project developed by University Partnerships Programme (UPP), the UK’s leading provider of on-campus residential and academic accommodation infrastructure, for long-standing partner the University of Exeter.
The works were undertaken in 12 sections and completed in two phases. Phase one of the East Park project, located on the University’s Streatham Campus, was completed last year, with students occupying 604 new rooms in September 2020.
With Phase two now complete for the 2021 student intake, the overall project has delivered 1,182 rooms, comprising a mixture of standard, en-suite and enhanced accessible bedrooms, as well as study and social spaces and outdoor areas with views of the Campus and the city of Exeter beyond.
The project has a BREEAM rating of Excellent, with the whole campus a designated botanical garden containing many themed areas with the approach of respecting the natural environment.
The development used off site techniques of fast lightweight steel framework, cladding and pre-fitted out finished pods meaning fewer associated traffic movements.
Russell Flowers, Regional Director for South West & Wales said:
“East Park will offer vibrant and modern high-quality on-campus accommodation, which will give a true holistic feel for the students to enjoy.
“We are delighted to have delivered the campus along with our long-term partner University Partnerships Programme (UPP) for the University of Exeter, underpinned by the knowledge we have all worked together to deliver a facility that can be enjoyed for many years to come”.
